Hello, I'm building android kitkat with kernel rel_imx_3.10.17_1.0.0_g on imx6 board I don't have a power button, and after the screen turned off, the console also freeze. does any one how to forbid this?
<angolini>
neooo: can you unlock the screen?
<neooo>
it's very hard
<neooo>
I have some issue with touchscreen
<angolini>
because of touchscreen?
<neooo>
yes
<angolini>
and mouse?
<neooo>
it does not work
<neooo>
it does know why
<neooo>
normally i have enabled all config feature of usb
<neooo>
but there is no msg in dmesg when I plug the mouse
<angolini>
where did you get the 3.10.17 kernel for android?
<neooo>
freescal
<angolini>
no msg on dmesg is not good
<neooo>
I mean when I plug the mouse
<angolini>
exactly what is not good
<neooo>
there is of course many msg ..
<neooo>
normally when u plug a usb device, you should see some debug message
<angolini>
are you with your custom board?
<neooo>
yes
<angolini>
i have never found a really hard way to disable the annoying freeze on android
<angolini>
give me some minutes, i´m going to try the docs again
<neooo>
ok, thx
<angolini>
what is the kk version number?
<angolini>
4.4.2?
<neooo>
android_kk4.4.2_1.0.0-ga
<neooo>
yes
<angolini>
do you have the linux reference manual with you?
<angolini>
take a look in page 282
<angolini>
you may try to use the USB to wake the system
<angolini>
a good approach would first of all, turn off the android system, use a pure linux rootfs, and then work to get your USB health again
<angolini>
i assume you´re going to have usb on your final board/system
<angolini>
ans use are going to give you adb
<dv^laptop>
oh hi daiane :)

<angolini>
hi
<dv^laptop>
chromium 40 will soon be stable, and then I'll upgrade the yocto recipes
<angolini>
is that ^ a nose?
<dv^laptop>
tests with 40-beta show smoother video playback and better performance
<dv^laptop>
no :)
<angolini>
great! chromium is always trending
<neooo>
sorry, I was waiting the hexchat to blink ... :)
<angolini>
sorry about that neooo
<neooo>
no pb
<angolini>
I´m not sure I already know how to notify using this .... tool
<neooo>
angolini: here' example!
<neooo>
My usb is working fine with regular rootfs
<angolini>
ohhhhhhhhhhh
<angolini>
that's a good info
<neooo>
yes
<angolini>
it means your kenrel is ok
<neooo>
yes
<angolini>
are you using pre-built android rootfs?
<neooo>
no
<angolini>
or are you building it?
<angolini>
:(
<neooo>
I'm building it
<angolini>
and have you changed that files under device/fsl/lalalal?
<neooo>
yes ...
<neooo>
I've create a new one ...
<angolini>
ok do you have getenv on your rootfs you can use to debug kernel events?
<neooo>
what's getenv
<angolini>
is the android app for evtest
<angolini>
getenv /dev/input0
<neooo>
OK ...
<neooo>
but the pb, I cannot type because the console get freezed when the screen if off
<angolini>
:(
<neooo>
yeah
<neooo>
i know there is a feature in the developer option
<neooo>
to keep screen on
<angolini>
but that does not actually work for what you need..........
<neooo>
but I need to fix touch scrren issue before that
<angolini>
and to get touchscreen debug, you need getenv
<angolini>
i´m thinking
<neooo>
ok
<neooo>
for info, the position is not reported correctly by android
<angolini>
have you tried no_console_suspend on cmdline?
<neooo>
no
<neooo>
I will try it right now!
<neooo>
seems interesting
<angolini>
if at least your console keeps alive
<neooo>
yes
<neooo>
well, there is some change in the last debug message shown, however the console freezed when the screen is off
<angolini>
neooo: i have no more clue. found some link over the web showing how to add a couple of lines in manifest to avoid the lock screen but it need rootfs rebuild
<angolini>
i have never tested..................
<neooo>
ok. I will
<neooo>
so you know something about the touchscreen tsc2007
<neooo>
otherwise many thx!
<angolini>
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.WAKE_LOCK" /> in manifest... but i really don't remember one central manifest with global users permission.... you may know that better than i
<angolini>
tsc2007? i have no idea. my brain cannot keep letters and numbers names.....
<neooo>
it's the touchscrren driver, lol :)
<neooo>
I'm aware about the xml, they are intented for application ...
<angolini>
that´s what I remembered.... (xml for application)
<neooo>
ok
<angolini>
:(
<neooo>
I find how to do it, and i will let you know ...
<neooo>
many thanks
<angolini>
thanks
