hi, someone here who knows the imx6 audmux and related subsystems? My question is more a general question. I have connected on audmux.port4 an ac97(wm9712) based codec. Is a simple-audio-card based configuration sufficient to get a working soundcard?

anyone knowledgable on yocto + imx6 + vivante ?
<rink_>
made a nice image, "inherit core-image", IMAGE_INSTALL_append = gpu-viv-bin-mx6q
<rink_>
boots and all
<rink_>
but trying to start /opt/viv_samples/vdk/tutorial1 or tutorial1_es20 doesn't do anything at all
<rink_>
(i.e. it exists immediately)
<silviof>
rink_:You can ask this question in #yocto. There are the peoples who have create the recipies and can give you some advices.
<rink_>
ok, thanks!

otavio, is there any example in qtmultimedia to check that currently?

greetings
<awakecoding>
otavio: hey, long time no see
<Tenkawa>
hste_: you around?
<Tenkawa>
or anyone using a gk802 with 3.10.17?
<otavio>
awakecoding: indeed
<otavio>
awakecoding: have you been working in FreeRDP to work with imx6?
<awakecoding>
otavio: well, it turns out I bought a utilite pro a couple of months ago, which has a vivante gpu in it. earlier today in #freerdp there was a dev who said he had an imx6 system with the same vivante gpu, and told me to come in here
<Tenkawa>
uboot fires up and just sits there
<awakecoding>
I was surprised because he said he had gpu acceleration
<otavio>
Great
<Tenkawa>
I think I must have something wrong with my uEnv.txt
<awakecoding>
and AFAIK there's no open source driver for the gc2000 yet
<awakecoding>
I've never used yocto before, and I'm not so sure how to proceed to get it running on the utilite pro
<otavio>
check freescale.github.io
<otavio>
and follow the instructions
<otavio>
BUT
<otavio>
utility is not supported there
<otavio>
and needs to be added support for it
<awakecoding>
"The pre built images can be found here. This service is generously provided by O.S. Systems." <- hehe
<otavio>
no utilite
<otavio>
but you can try to reuse the rootfs if you want
<awakecoding>
I really don't have much experience building Linux images from scratch for systems that don't have instructions for how to do so
<otavio>
awakecoding: we are the maintainers of Yocto Project BSP for Freescale ARM SoCs
<awakecoding>
such a small world
<otavio>
indee
<otavio>
indeed
<awakecoding>
have you ever seen the utilite pro before? it's a really neat device, if only I can get gpu acceleration, this thing will make an amazing thin client
<otavio>
I did
<awakecoding>
I like that it's pretty much an ARM desktop (the pro device)
<otavio>
I am awaiting CompuLab to add it to YP or pay me to do that ;P
<awakecoding>
did you approach them?
<otavio>
loong time ago
<otavio>
but if you can push, please to do so
<awakecoding>
I didn't try approaching them, but so far the utilite pro is one the best devices I could find on the market
<otavio>
CuBox is nice as well
<awakecoding>
it really has everything I want in it, except better gpu support and more instructions on how to make custom linux distros
<otavio>
and much better supported, by the way
<awakecoding>
yeah, but they all have problems. cubox doesn't have NEON AFAIK
<otavio>
it is same processors
<otavio>
CuBox-i is same processor
<awakecoding>
there is a large number of cheap linux boards that 1) don't have neon or 2) have poor gpu support
<awakecoding>
let me double check then, I thought maybe it didn't
