Should there be a need to share memory then either use the stdlib provided functionality like `Channel` or implement some locking mechanism via `Mutex`

i havent look at the source, but the man page for write(2) says that the adjustment of the file offset and the write operation are performed as an atomic step....as long as the file was opened using O_APPEND

use a/a+ for append, that should be atomic

at least for writing...there is probably a possibility that another process could read in the middle of a write, but that is a different issue really
