Khady: not a technical question, was wondering how it's being used from at a practical application level. what does your tool do?
<sethltx>
@chenglou thanks and no problem
<Khady>
sethltx: we have different tools to trace the usage of a cryptographic API by an application. Those traces are sent to a web application that uses the traces to provide a report. A big part of this web application is in OCaml and hosted on heroku
<sethltx>
Khady very cool. Are you listening for network traffic with OCaml, or is another app doing that and delegating to the OCaml app?
<Khady>
The frontend is in python. The ocaml tool exposes a web server, but it's only for internal communications, it's not exposed to users
struk|desk2 is now known as struk|desk
<sethltx>
last bothersome question for you :)... what is the ocaml tool using for a web server?
<Khady>
cohttp

<bsansouci>
sethltx: same
<bsansouci>
But I guess you could ;)
<sethltx>
i don't think my wife and 5 kids would agree X-D
<reynir>
freebsd's phk works full time with open source, and I think he's written about his experiences and such. Maybe there's some advice if you're serious about it
<reynir>
I would think it's more difficult with programming languages, though.
<sethltx>
i'm not even close to being able to do that heh. it's good to dream, though.
<bsansouci>
Ooooh wow
<bsansouci>
Well you're here, that's already fun right :p
