<arossdotme> how to make a wireless stereo pair of active speakers? i know how to do the amp and pwr supply but i dont know how to link the audio between the two speakers? bluetooh? i belive the blueshift company used bluetooth to for there pair of linked up portable super capacitor powered speakers but i dont know how? cus isnt there latency so the left/right channel would be out of sync of the master speaker that receives the audio input.
<arossdotme> ?

<DocScrutinizer05> wpwrak: ((needs a bit of planning)) NFC about "web programming" but can't you use a generic function you call on hovering and on clicking, and simply define in that function what to do?
<DocScrutinizer05> [2016-06-08 Wed 04:43:43] <pydsigner> Is it possible to upgrade from Ubuntu 16.04 to Devuan?
<DocScrutinizer05> [2016-06-08 Wed 04:44:06] <furrywolf> unlikely. I'd suggest a full installation.

<wpwrak> DocScrutinizer05: that's the overall idea, yes. however, as so often, the devil is in the details :)
<DocScrutinizer05> and OT: did I already mention it in here today? **FSCK GMAIL!**
<wpwrak> like: what exactly should we hover over (and what not) ? what exactly should happen ? how do we solve corner cases and conflicts ? what about things that don't quite work as planned ? and so on
<wpwrak> what my scripts do is address all these questions, and turn relatively human-friendly input into the corresponding web bureaucracy
<DocScrutinizer05> even gregkh@linuxfoundation.org
<DocScrutinizer05> :-O
<wpwrak> what did you try to send them ? information about your new penis enhancement herbs ? ;-)
<DocScrutinizer05> TZZ ;-P
<wpwrak> whoa ! 4.4 C outdoors. i think that's a record for this year
<pcercuei> sounds cold :x
<DocScrutinizer05> LKML
<DocScrutinizer05> USB
<wpwrak> yeah, winter is early and chilly this year. already may was unusually cold. 4 C at sunrise is about 5 C below the average minimum
<pcercuei> where are you located?
<wpwrak> i'm in buenos aires
<pcercuei> oh yeah
<pcercuei> you're the Lilo guy
<wpwrak> indeed :)
<DocScrutinizer05> how is LiLo linked to BUE now?
<pcercuei> DocScrutinizer05, all the remaining users of Lilo are living in Buenos Aires
<DocScrutinizer05> lol
<wpwrak> hey !
<DocScrutinizer05> didn't know there were any at all
<DocScrutinizer05> which is sort of a pity
<wpwrak> there are always a few systems that just won't boot with grub
<DocScrutinizer05> even though wpwrak will deny
<DocScrutinizer05> yeah, LiLo is/was a tad clumsy but pretty straight and reliable
<wpwrak> yup, worked pretty well for what it was designed for. did its job for well over 20 years, without requiring major changes
<DocScrutinizer05> indeed
<wpwrak> now things are getting more difficult with uefi and such
<DocScrutinizer05> BLAERGH! UEFI
<wpwrak> and of course the fact that a lot is written in assembler isn't so great
<DocScrutinizer05> UEFI plus systemd: great way to *really* brick your hardware. irrecoverably
<DocScrutinizer05> of course - as usual - Poettering rejects all responsibility and denies this is any sort of a problem or flaw
<wpwrak> yes, sounds like a fun combination :)
<DocScrutinizer05> aiui systemd always mounts the config/flash area of UEFI as a rw volume
<DocScrutinizer05> just because it *can*
<DocScrutinizer05> nobody really knows why and by whom that's needed, exscept to nuke your "BIOS"
<DocScrutinizer05> nobody knows why a sysop who *really* wants to access that stuff couldn't manually mount the volume before using any tools that mess with it
<wpwrak> is it exposed through systemd's cloud interface, too ? :)
<DocScrutinizer05> I'm really not interested in investigating that detail
<kyak> what the hell.. DocScrutinizer05 - i thought you were kidding at first
<DocScrutinizer05> I'm never kidding about systemd-cancer
<wpwrak> no POST today, your UEFI's gone away ...
<DocScrutinizer05> those bonobos *really* implemented an easy self destruct method into systemd
<wpwrak> poor monkeys. now you're calling them evil.
<DocScrutinizer05> you could argue it's largely a terrible implementation flaw of UEFI itself, yet I think Poettering deserves to pay for every victim's new mainboard
<kyak> i suggest we mount every firmware as rw, not just UEFI. Good bye network card and graphics card :)
<DocScrutinizer05> yeah, and the sysfs control nodes for Vcore to /tmp/havefun/*
<DocScrutinizer05> since it's fun to overclock, isn't it?
<DocScrutinizer05> DAMN! I hope Poettering never will read that
<DocScrutinizer05> any hint where to access LKML archives?
<DocScrutinizer05> I get >>XSLT error or server overload; admin notified. The system should heal itself, please try again in a few minutes<<
<wpwrak> kyak: and don't forget to add cloud interface. with password-based login. add a hard 8 characters limit and store unsalted MD5 hashes. leak the account database from time to time. that should have all the bases covered ;-)
<wpwrak> (leak) after all, it's safe since you're only storing hashes. protected by good old and reliable MD5.
<DocScrutinizer05> aah https://www.mail-archive.com/
<wpwrak> is this where you can retrieve the backups the NSA made of your correspondence ? ;-)
<DocScrutinizer05> ((new penis enhancement herbs)) https://www.mail-archive.com/linux-kernel@vger.kernel.org/msg1162282.html
<wpwrak> definitely sounds like some geek porn. and i better don't ask what you guys are doing with the poor hens. at least no goats.
<DocScrutinizer05> hehehe
<kyak> wpwrak: by the way, here is Anelok killer :)
<kyak> original is in Russian, sorry
<kyak> 5 buttons for 5 preset passwords. Acts as USB HID device
<kyak> most suggestions in comments is about adding LCD
<kyak> and some kind of joystick
<kyak> so you are on the right way

<wpwrak> "Forknul this code, drank it, ran to his board ... It worked!" always have a vodka before running your code ? ;-)
<wpwrak> and "forknul" so needs to become a real word
<wpwrak> the idea of building some yubikey-like device is pretty common. there've also been projects of this sort on hackaday. always the same concept: something usb-attached with a few buttons that will "type" some stored password.
<wpwrak> that's of course just as far as you can get before things get a bit more complicated. e.g., independent power supply.
<kyak> "forknul" is a real word! it means "forked"
<wpwrak> heh :)
<kyak> did you know that "zakommitil" is "commited"?
<kyak> russian language is easy
<kyak> "ya forknul cod i zakommitil v git repu" - doesn't even need translation :)
<wpwrak> and it's even more compact than the original :)
<kyak> i'm pretty sure there will be only one (practically used) language on Earth 150 years from now
<kyak> our chinese friends could disagree, but i was smart enough to make unverifiable statement :)
<wpwrak> hmm, not sure. i guess it depends how stratification develops. the "upper class" always had a common language (which changed over time, latin, french, english), so if everyone becomes "upper class", then yes. else, fragmentation may prove to be fairly persistent. plus, you now even get new separatist movements that seek to establish new divisions

<kyak> noone will even notice
<kyak> they will come to realize one day that they speak the same language
<wpwrak> whee, 4.4 C at 10 am. good that there's plenty of sunlight to warm everything but the air.
<kyak> 4.4, that's quite precise :)
<wpwrak> that's what a news site says :)
<kyak> and the wind is how many centimeters per second? :)
<wpwrak> meh. too lazy to look that up. though there's a great site for all the details, windguru.cz
<wpwrak> the fun bit there is, the better the rating they give for the weather, the nastier it typically is

<DocScrutinizer05> could somebody please help me out with rsync? I know I can pass parameters to rsync-ssh by e.g. "-e 'ssh -p 2234'" but how would I simulate a "sudo su -" after ssh login, so the remote sshd actually has root permissions for file access?
<DocScrutinizer05> I guess a -e 'ssh -p 2234 sudo su -' won't do?
<DocScrutinizer05> or a ssh -p 2234 sudo su - ssh, whatever
<wpwrak> DocScrutinizer05: rsync -e "neo900 --ssh" :-)
<wpwrak> ah, sudo ... that's more then
<DocScrutinizer05> err what is neo900 here?
<DocScrutinizer05> IP?
<wpwrak> that script i use for ssh/scp. but after reading your complete question i see that this isn't the answer you're looking for, sorry.
<DocScrutinizer05> it seems the easiest is to temporarily allow root login by providing a pubkey on remote machine
<wpwrak> yup
<DocScrutinizer05> very annoying
<DocScrutinizer05> feels so noobish
<DocScrutinizer05> >>sudo: sorry, you must have a tty to run sudo<<
<DocScrutinizer05> very encouraging: >>The road to mail-server-setup is paved with carcasses of system administrators; one hand still clinging to their keyboards and the other reaching out to the light at the end of this gloomy path.<<
