<wpwrak> rjeffries: by the way, what did you mean with "I'd hope for a somewhat more robust display" ?

<solrize_> analok seems kind of silly as a hardware device... it would have been a good nanonote app... i sometimes think of putting a qr decoder into chdk and using a camera as a 2-factor auth token (take picture of qr code like you would with a phone camera, except the camera is completely off the internet)
<solrize_> but i don't know if decoding would be tolerably fast
<solrize_> maybe i'll ask on #chdk, hmm
<wpwrak> solrize_: the idea for anelok actually started with the ben :)
<wpwrak> but then, the ben is kinda unwieldy for this kind of use
<solrize_> oh :)
<solrize_> hmm
<solrize_> is the ben large? i never used one
<wpwrak> well, it's small for what it is. but anelok is much smaller :)
<solrize_> i've also thought of using a sansa clip media player for stuff like that... tiny little thing about the size of a matchbook
<eintopf> why not putting anelok functionality in a "open" smartphone
<wpwrak> eintopf: unless you give it its own display and keys, it would still have to share the user interface
<solrize_> eintopf, security
<solrize_> crap, all the clip models seem to be discontinued... you can still get them but they are crazy expensive
<solrize_> maybe on fleabay or sth
<solrize_> i still have a few of them and there's one i can't find :(

<solrize_> http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ben-Nanonote-by-Willy-Nethanel-Paperback-/381520892436 wtf this is what happens when i look for a nanonote there

<eintopf> make the smartphone as a multiboot environment
<eintopf> then go into the password safe or android/$etc
<wpwrak> eintopf: very convenient ;-)
<eintopf> but sometimes you need the password safe while hacking on smartphone
<eintopf> :D
<eintopf> mhh
<eintopf> don't know :-( in case for my mother, she needs the bruce schneier method
<eintopf> put in in your pocket
<eintopf> all other methods are too complex
<eintopf> _all_
<wpwrak> yes, i guess you have to be at least somewhat techophile to be okay with something like anelok
<eintopf> anelok is great
<eintopf> it would be very close to a device which my mother _could_ use
<eintopf> maybe after 1-2 years
<eintopf> testing :-)
<eintopf> she use linux, so she can update the firmware
<eintopf> ;-)
