alas heat management is the major problem with any such solution. The modem depends on being soldered to a heatsink

The reason I ask is because archlinux arm hosts a 3.10 (I think) kernel for the odroid-c1 (for example) but I think that's mainly because hardkernel maintain a 3.10 fork with a bunch of custom patches just for the c1

camera should work with standard V4L stuff afaik, however with possibly reduced quality compared to what Nokia shipped with N900/maemo that does some "magic" to the raw camera sensor data

Also, I know there are some projects for full phone interfaces, but are there any simple libraries which would let me (from c) talk directly to the modem without having to learn all of these serial commands?
