<eintopf> grml, I created a "~" directory
<Textmode> bravo?
<eintopf> it's always a risk to delete a directory named like this
Textmode has quit [Quit: "It was one dev, naked in a room with a carton of cigarettes, a thermos full of coffee and bourbon, and all his summoned angels."]
<larsc> rm '~'
<larsc> -rf
<DocScrutinizer05> whitequark: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=1444377
<viric> that's when rmdir helps, because it will only remove void directories
<eintopf> viric: mhh, yea you are right
<eintopf> but feeling bad when return enter :)
<eintopf> mhh
<eintopf> s/return/hit/
<DocScrutinizer05> use tab expansion, or mc. also a mv to rename the dir before deleting it will help
<DocScrutinizer05> and right, you can delete an *empty* dir with rmdir, not though a dir which still contains stuff. Also might try a "cd" into the dir named "~" before you do a "rmdir ."
<DocScrutinizer05> most simple way to deal with ~ file however is probably giving FQN, like /home/eintopf/~
<whitequark> DocScrutinizer05: oh haha, you did /invite _whitelogger, right?
<whitequark> I added that functionality, but almost no one used it, because you have to be a channel op to invite or something
<whitequark> I updated the config as well, so that it will come back after a restart
<DocScrutinizer05> whitequark: general freenode policy is only chanops may allow bots in channels. So checking if the inviting user is +o on the channel the bot gets invited to makes a lot of sense
<DocScrutinizer05> yes, I used /invite
<DocScrutinizer05> permission to /invite may be granted to everybody in channel via /mode +i (iirc)
<DocScrutinizer05> +i however is no default setting
<DocScrutinizer05> so only very few channels may have it set
<DocScrutinizer05> oops, +g ?
<DocScrutinizer05> +i is prolly "only invited /join"
<DocScrutinizer05> aiui ^^^ the +g even allows normal chan users to /mode +i which would be pretty insane

<DocScrutinizer05> whitequark: I actually wonder if you need to log out _whitelogger to register at nickserv. when you could make bot /say something, you probably don't need to log out for that
<DocScrutinizer05> well, you need to /msg infobot
<DocScrutinizer05> sending /msg as text string won't do the trick
<DocScrutinizer05> well, you need to /msg nickserv; sorry
<DocScrutinizer05> IRC voodoo, I dunno the IRC protocol basics much
