<kriegerod> i've failed to run any GLES related tests (sunxi-mali test, glmark2-es2) on my CT, although sunxi-mali installed for r3p0, x11 (tried framebuffer EGL_TYPE also), and fbturbo set up.
<kriegerod> x11 and windows work irrespective to ump&mali modules being loaded
<kriegerod> x11 works _for_some_time_, then i have no more HDMI signal output, x11 restarts don't help, just reboot
<swabbles> kriegerod: X11 and windows don't use Mali.
<swabbles> Hmm, does your display turn off after a while?
<swabbles> If so, you may have to turn off DPMS.
<swabbles> (I've had the same issue with a display at home)
<kriegerod> err wait sunxi-mali test worked now
<kriegerod> swabbles: dpms is disabled with some xset commands, right?
<swabbles> xset -dpms, but a ServerLayout Section with options StandbyTime, SuspendTime and OffTime set to 0 might be better.
<kriegerod> hm, triangle test works with EGL_TYPE framebuffer
<kriegerod> but not with x11

<arokux> kriegerod: the other guy got it working. maybe my hardware is faulty, not sure.
<arokux> kriegerod: have you tried wifi in Android maybe?

<wens> torbenh3: getting the feeling that gbit support in u-boot is broken somewhere
<torbenh3> wens: sure its broken.
<torbenh3> wens: i always said that :)
<wens> torbenh3: the phy registers say that link is at 1000 full duplex
<torbenh3> wens: i now believe it has something to do with full duplex.
<torbenh3> there isnt really 1000Mbit-HD ...
<wens> torbenh3: don't know, but u-boot reports link at 100Mbps-FD
<torbenh3> i have my managed switch port configured to 100Mbps-FD ... and that works.
<kriegerod> wtf, lubuntu does some package installs at boot
<torbenh3> BTW: its TX thats broken. RX works.
<wens> torbenh3: RX should always work, RX clock is sent by PHY according to link
<torbenh3> RX extracts the clock from the link. doesnt need 125MCLK on the phy.
hipboi has joined #linux-sunxi
<torbenh3> wens: i only have 40MHz scope. cant really check that clock.

<oliv3r> and USB is often limited to 500 mA which may be limited
hipboi has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds]
<tomee^> powering anything through usb is usually a bad idea
<tomee^> since the board designer usually assumes that there will be a safe 5V there
<tomee^> and on the other hand devices often do not comply
<tomee^> they either try to draw more than 500mA, or not deliver as much current as they are supposed to
<tomee^> plug a shitty tablet/PND through a shitty USB cable into your laptop
<tomee^> and you will hear the circuitry literally hissing because of overload
<kriegerod> but wifi works at android. now i'll check with detached usb hdd and ethernet
<arokux> tomee^: I power normally.
<arokux> kriegerod: you have reproduced the errors that I had too.
<arokux> tomee^: now tell us what did you do so your wifi works? :(((

<tomee^> arokux: it's magic I guess. u-boot-sunxi bootloader, cubietech kernel and god know what linaro image
<arokux> tomee^: have you used theirs u-boot or ours? user space is irrelevant in this case.
<kriegerod> tomee^: do you have that image now?
<kriegerod> so we could replicate
<tomee^> arokux: also, it worked with WPA2-PSK CCMP. it didn't want to connect to WPA-PSK CCMP
<tomee^> arokux: your bootloader.
<tomee^> arokux: their fex.
<arokux> tomee^: as said - the failure is there *before* wpa_sup. we get error on inserting the module.
<tomee^> kriegerod: no, I have the image at home with a stunning 1Mbit/s uplink.
<arokux> tomee^: hm.. I've used theirs u-boot.
<tomee^> kriegerod: so pushing the image will take me full night.
<arokux> kriegerod: you have used theirs u-boot too?
<kriegerod> arokux: no, i left the one installed from recent github.com/linux-sunxi/u-boot-sunxi
<tomee^> arokux: by the way I didn't do performance or actual usability tests. but dhcp worked, as did ping.
<kriegerod> can try with theirs
<tomee^> haha
<tomee^> so if you got it working
<arokux> kriegerod: not necessary, I tried theirs -- didn't work too.
<tomee^> and I did too
<tomee^> maybe using cubietech bootloader breaks *their* drivers or what? :)
<arokux> tomee^: kriegerod hasn't got it working, me too....
<kriegerod> yep
<arokux> tomee^: kriegerod used ours u-boot
<tomee^> arokux: do you suspect I spent the evening writing fake logs? :)
<tomee^> arokux: it really works for me.
<arokux> tomee^: there is no reason not to believe you :) I just want to know what is the difference...
<tomee^> arokux: for what it's worth, WiFi in the US is permitted to draw up to 500mW
<tomee^> arokux: so maybe take a close look at your power supply
<arokux> tomee^: so what? but you are not in US?
<arokux> tomee^: my PS is good
<tomee^> arokux: but the radio eeprom performs a self-calibration on powerup
<kriegerod> tomee^: anyway, could you please share your system image in near days?
<tomee^> kriegerod: ok I will.
<arokux> tomee^: we do not even get to this point, take a look: http://sprunge.us/KPAD
<arokux> tomee^: starting from 45.805619

<kriegerod> i power it by roundy jack, not by OTG port of CT
<arokux> tomee^: which PS do you use? :p
<tomee^> arokux: a PS that came with an LTE+WiFi router
<arokux> to be honest, I think my PS is good. but I'll check with another one.
<tomee^> arokux: ideally you could try to draw the power from the ATX PSU in your computer
<tomee^> arokux: if you have a spare molex/sata connector, there's 5V there. capable of a couple dozen amps

<oliv3r> awesome

<rz2k> Montjoie: noob question: does it need cryptodev engine for openssl to be usable from user-space?
<oliv3r> Montjoie: only twice? :(

<Montjoie> Lot of value are magic and need to be benched

<torbenh3> rz2k: there is also AF_ALG
<rz2k> oliv3r: on i.mx machines you need to run the cryptodev, so I ask :p
<Montjoie> rz2k, at your choice, since SS use the kernel crypto you can use af_alg or cryptodev
<Montjoie> but I hit some bugs with AF_ALG under the sunxi3.4

<oliv3r> TomiK: sounds like default

<oliv3r> atsampson: we don't really use cubieboard software, as that's not even from cubietech i belive
<oliv3r> atsampson: that's a pretty generic sun7i config, though there are probably issues with it (patches are more then welcome)
<oliv3r> atsampson: how's android/replicant coming a long? 4.4 sounds very interesting resource wise?
<atsampson> oliv3r: righto, I'll give sun7i-defconfig a go, then
<atsampson> oliv3r: I got 4.1 working but didn't get any further -- and I'm probably not going to, since having now used Android I've decided it's not really worth the effort ;-)
<atsampson> but it'd make sense to pull my changes into the common project in case anyone else wants to pick it up
<oliv3r> atsampson: what do you mean?
<oliv3r> atsampson: you don't wanna work on replicant anymore?
