Noxz: what are you doing that it's so loud? I've used one once to lyse bacterial cells, and other times as ultrasonic cleaners and they weren't too loud

some of them are even sold with noise chambers

but being within a few feet of it, I would recomend earplugs, if for a long duration.. I was doing two 15 min intervals at about 50W
